What this site is

The Tokyo Style Journal is an independent publication covering men's grooming, barbering, and menswear. We write to help readers buy more deliberately and understand the craft behind what they wear and use.

Paid partnerships

Most of what we publish is ordinary editorial, with no money changing hands. From time to time a piece may include a paid partnership with a brand we feature. When that is the case:

• We disclose it on the article itself and on the site-wide banner.
• A paid partner can be included in our coverage; a paid partner cannot dictate what we

say, suppress a competitor, or edit our copy.

• Any comparison that features a paying brand also includes brands we have no relationship

with. We never run a comparison of paying partners only.

Our standards

• We write from craft knowledge and name specifics — the technique, the material, the mill.
• We reserve superlatives for claims we can support.
• Corrections are made promptly and noted.

How our content is produced

Articles are produced and edited by our editorial team, and reviewed before publication.
